Mainfreight use a combination of trailers and vehicles that ensure freight is secure during transit, and arrives at its destination undamaged and well presented for delivery.

A number of trailer configurations are used:   

  • 40ft (12.2 metre) 
  • 45ft (13.4 metre)
  • Rail Containers
  • Flat deck B-Double trailers (mezzanine floors available)
  • Drop deck B Double trailers (mezzanine floors available)

Mezzanine and drop deck trailer features:

  • Separation of freight with a mezzanine floor that allows full use of the trailer with no freight resting on top of other cargo 
  • No top tarpaulins or top rope tying
  • Load secured with straps rather than ropes
  • Enhanced suspension system for smoother freight ride
  • Over height freight loading
  • Segregation and isolation of dangerous goods from other freight
  • Dual side loading, quicker loading and unloading of freight

Forklift attachments

Mainfreight use a number of forklift attachments that assist with freight handling, aimed at reducing the risk of fork damage to valuable customer product. These include fork "slippers" for handling aluminium lengths, and fork "frames" for top lifting white goods.
